My assumption, and I am very open to being corrected, is that Cheney had no particular ideological belief connected to the petrochemical industry.


So you simply choose to assume something about someone and see no problem holding that assumption until you are proven wrong? He was a congressman and the house minority whip during the 80s, I think it safe to assume he held opinions on are energy policy at that time.
