most domesticated animals don't eat what they'd "naturally" eat

when was the last time you fed a dog a haunch of venison or a cat a nice juicy raw pheasant?
Alfalfa and Brome pastures do not exist in nature.
Any native grass to America a horse eats is not on their natural menu.
Snakes do not dine on frozen mice
Goldfish do not dine on flakes
If the animal's feed enables proper digestion and proper nutrition, I do not see the problem.
Out of curiosity, do your local meat producers meet your standards of care? No feed lot cattle, pigs weren't raised with grain, chickens housed in the front yard?
I don't see why anyone doesn't grow turkeys free range...freaking bastards would come at me in an enclosed space and I wouldn't be able to get away... Turkeys are out to get me.

flock-to-flock contamination is quite a problem if you're trying to not feed the birds antibiotics.

true. But I think at this point we are getting away from commercially raised and more towards pets.
