That book should be taught at least in high schools.
for my grade 12 English class? I have to do a seminar on a general theme in the said book.
Have you not seen the posts around here about the poor guy who can't even get Shakespeare approved for jr high plays? No WAY is "Stranger" going to EVER be approved for high school curriculum. There is wayyyyy too much free love and sex, rejection of traditional religion, and open support of loose ideas regarding family structure and marital fidelity. The vast majority of schools won't even teach "Catcher in the Rye" and it's not nearly as inflamatory as SiaSL - it's basically just a bratty kid who runs off for a few days and likes to use the words "goddam" and "fuck" a lot.
Not to mention the fact that as Heinlein novels go, that one pretty much sucks balls.
