He can't be a motorist as that will add more carbon dioxide to an already warming planet and/or encourage people to use their cars to go places. He would have to walk.

Break and enter - might encourage kids to do the same

and leaves gifts (presumably not made by elves because that might encourage slave labor or sweat shops) for them to find? .........

But you shouldn't accept gifts from strangers either...

Maybe it'd be easier if he just retired.
