namely, that gilbert played as though he slept through the team meetings. the fact that he made the game somewhat watchable in the second half is probably more to do with his coaches than his own preparation.


But this kid is a true freshman. I mean, how many games did he play in this year? How many snaps did he get? I mean, playing in practice is nothing compared to the actual game and the fact that he picked up so quickly is amazing. I don't think he slept through team meetings or anything. He was just inexperienced. If anything he wasn't given preparation enough. I mean... why wasn't there a more viable backup? One more experienced?
