I think the "Accepted" term these days is "African American", but that's just ridiculous. If you're only a few generations from an immigrant class, okay, blank-American makes a bit of sense...but aren't most of these "African" Americans so far removed from "African" that it's just plain ridiculous? For that matter, what about people from Aboriginal descent (mostly in Australia, obviously, but here too I'm sure)?
So maybe that is considered the 'good term", but is there a better one right now? Is it "appropriate" to just say black?
