That was the gamble they took when they signed a 40 year old QB. They can't even get a decent draft pick now unless they put Allen on the block or something. He wants another ring though, and the Vikings have a decent chance of providing it if the running backs stop washing their hands in Crisco, so maybe he's got one more year left. I dunno though; the Saints pounded the crap out of him, and I wouldn't be eager to do that for five more months if I were him. A dozen hits and no sacks; maybe they should learn to let up after the whistle....
Granted, it's hard to be sure since the only time the coaches haven't lived in paranoid fear of putting him in was his rookie year, but all that really means is he's gotten older without getting much game experience. Even if he DOES become a HoFer, he and whoever he's playing for will have to take their lumps for a couple years before it starts working. But I don't expect it to happen regardless.
