taking a few months off (like the rest of the NFL over that time, since it was the offseason and all).
He takes more than that off. He makes sure to sign late July or early August so that he skips mini-camps, training with the team and pre-season practice.
But still. Its like he's taking a vacation. He's not missing anything that amounts to serious time for a player of his talent and experience. He's not missing any football games.
I wasn't disputing his skipping games or full seasons of play... just pointing out one of the reasons people are so annoyed by his timing of announcing his returns.
