I have seen the AB in both the summer and the winter, in North Dakota, northern Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan.
On the other hand, Tim who lives in Scotland which if further north than any of the U.S. has never seen it from his home.

I am curious why we in the northern US can see the AB but people in Scotland can't. I tried looking it up on Wiki but couldn't find anything.

Anyone have any ideas?


.. as the geographical one. I still find it odd that you'd see it much in the US, though... However, there could be other explanations depending on the amount of light pollution available in your respective areas.
