I think the problem is that Obama doesn't really have a lot of his own plans. Tom Send a noteboard - 29/01/2010 05:03:33 AM
For all people call the health care plan "ObamaCare", it really is the backalley abortion of the Democrats in Congress. Nancy Pelosi has decided to ram legislation through the House of Representatives with not even a semblance of deal-making and bipartisanship, knowing full well the problems that it causes in the Senate, where the balance of power is closer to even when the "Blue Dog Democrats" are factored in. With Brown now elected, the Republicans have the power of the filibuster.

One would hope that this would lead Pelosi to try to engage in constructive talks with Republicans. However, that's not who she is. She's ruthlessly partisan. And, frankly, she's incompetent. I'm surprised that she hasn't been ousted by the party leadership. Democrats need someone who can generate legislation that is close enough to center that moderate Republicans will feel pressure to vote for it and the Blue Dogs can't say no. However, she doesn't do that (or even make the appearance of doing so).

However, Obama has decided to give us the second term of the Carter Administration. He talks. He talks all the time. He speaks everywhere, to everyone and about everything. He spends so much time talking it should come as no surprise that he does nothing. His handlers need to tell him to stop talking so much and start DOING things. I don't want to hear him make his same "dare to hope" speech - that was what he was supposed to do as a candidate.

I'm just sick of hearing him. I hope the Democrats get their asses handed to them in November because a Republican Congress might work better with an Obama Presidency. Plus, it would force the Republicans to do something constructive.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
