She had some actual business to discuss, then jumped into "I know this isnt my business, and I shouldn't say anything, but I'm going to.

I think that you are making very, very bad decisions in your life. I don't understand, WHY you are going to go to school. You don't have a very good support system (ie, my mom doesn't help me with the kids), its going to put you into more debt, and I don't think you REALIZE how much work going to school actually is.

She went on to say

I don't think you realize how good you actually have it here. I have friends who have children (who are about/around my age) who have advanced degrees from name universities and they either don't have jobs, or make less than you do.

So I wonder, how, exactly, do you think your life will be better, just because you finish your degree?

She further suggested that instead of school I should stay home, and be a parent to my children, instead of leaving them with a babysitter. Especially, you know, since my son is so much trouble for me.

Dude.

I asked her how going to school could EVER be a bad thing, and she touted her friends kids again, and said how will you ever compete with that?

So tell me former wotmaniacs, read and find out denizens, do you also think that going to school is a bad choice, based on the fact that I am a single mother, and that I don't know what I'm getting into (even though I do)?
