I'm sorry she and you are in this situation. One thing I didn't think of before is that, due to HIPAA concerns, they might not want to talk to you at all or be able to give you any information. But if she's there it's more likely they'll be able to help you out.

I guess we'll see if she gets onto a state insurance program that will back-cover her treatment (her application has been open since mid-summer).
