Most doctors have people on staff who deal with insurance companies on a daily basis and they should be willing to help you. I know mine is a lot more help then the insurance company and they have even helped me fight the insurance company when they didn't want to cover something.
Yeah, it's very pleasant dealing with people aren't trying to screw you, which (as a general rule), most health care people aren't. If so, they probably picked the wrong profession.
