What the fuck were all you conservatives thinking? George Bush? Really? Just how stupid do conservatives feel? I mean, I know he's out of office now. But... just damn.
Bush was better than the alternative is the honest answer.
Gore's seemed to believe the office was guaranteed to him already. In addition, Bush at that time ran on a fiscally & socially conservative platform (go ahead and laugh), and we believed him.
Kerry, as stated above, was a horrible candidate. Yah, he got swiftboated, but you cannot take the political stands he made earlier in his life and expect people would simply forget about it.
There are a lot of vets in the country that had an absolute seething hatred for Kerry, and that probably led to his downfall.
So I guess I would ask, what the hell were democrats thinking nominating him?
The perception people had that his wife was pretentious bitch didn't help either.
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...
