"Fled is that music:—Do I wake or sleep?" is the first that comes to mind... Liam Send a noteboard - 22/02/2010 11:42:32 PM
I am going to purchase a new iPod and instead of getting my initials as the free engraving, I want to do a quote about music. I have two favorites at the moment:

TS Eliot: You are the music
While the music lasts

O'Shaunessy:
We are the music-makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams

SO! I ask the lot of you...what are your favorite quotes regarding music, be it pithy, witty, deep, or Seussical?

...but it mightn't be appropriate. It's by Keats of course.

"There's music in all things, if men had ears:
Their earth is but an echo of the spheres." - Byron.

There's a few I really love, but I can't think of a single one of them for some reason. I am convinced there's something good by Eliot but it eludes me.

Oh, how simply grand it is to be travelling by dirigible again. Direct us to the west good sir, tonight we will remember what it is to live.
