I lived near Columbine when the first shooting took place. One of my coworker’s had a daughter was killed and a lot out friends had kids going to school there. I have never lived in a community that was that traumatized and shocked by a single event. We were in a panic all day and in a state of shock for weeks. Our friend’s kid has skipped school and it took hours to find him. After all of that I can’t imagine how much bad memories this is bring back for them.

They have to find some method of punishment that makes this sort of action unappealing to people who want to take as many innocents with them as possible. Maybe we should bring back public humiliation as a form of punishment and make them sit all day in glass cage while people quack at them and throw insults. No I don’t really think we could get away with that but I would get it would worry them more then threats of the death penalty would.
