While I still hold to my statement, I can see how the reaction was provoked and possibly warrented in this situation. Fair enough.

Out of curiosity, is RI one of those states that makes you join a Union? I know my mom has avoided joining any teacher's union like it was some horrible hybrid of small pox and malaria, and from what she's told me, the main reason she's not forced to join the Union is because Arizona does not requires workers to join a Union.

Arizona being such, I don't know much about Unions (beyond what they teach us in History class, but that's not very recent information). Would these teachers have been forced to join the Union, and if not, were the non-Union teachers also fired? I would think that punishing non-Union teachers for the Union's actions would be unwarranted.
