You've had something against Turkey and the AKP in particular for as long as I remember. As for leaving the country with a piece of Anatolia and nothing more, just what do you think it is that happened in 1919 and the following years? Anatolia was divided among the victors, sure enough, and the Greeks got their chance of conquering a good chunk of Anatolia. Until Atatürk beat them back, got them running, and in the end the powers that were caved, cancelled Sèvres and accepted Lausanne in 1923.

If on the other hand you mean that the English and French (and Americans?) should've been actively supporting the Greeks with troops, I really have to wonder what the point of that would've been, or how they would've justified it to their war-weary (not without reason) populations at home. Not to mention that the English at least already had a nasty conflict on their hands in the Russian Civil War, though obviously you know far more about that than I ever will.

I'm not sure what you're referring to with "letting the Greeks knock the crap out of them after WWII", considering that Turkey didn't participate in that war and Greece afaik had major internal troubles after WWII even before the really nasty stuff started in 1949.
