Quaker Oats sells two big cans of oatmeal. "Instant" Oatmeal which is more ground, and then they have their "original."
The original isn't quite the quality of the steel cut oats, but they aren't processed near as much. I rather like them, actually. And they're actually cheaper!! I don't know if they're true "steel cut" oats, but they are more fiberous.

Let sit for about five minutes and the oats absorb the water. I don't know if this is technically considered oatmeal but it is great for the morning meal. I always feel full all the way to lunch and feel a more stable energy (probably more stable blood sugar levels) and of course it helps keep the pipes clean!

I'm running a ton lately, and I can definitely tell the difference between eating something full of fiber and complex carbs and eating something sugary or protein filled. Oatmeal seems like a nice low and slow burn, protein sits like a rock and doesn't do much for me when I run, and sugary stuff lets me feel good for 10 minutes and then leaves me feeling like I didn't eat at all.
Oats rule.
