Though I find it rather unlikely to be as reported.
Do you think people got nothing better to do than arrest a 12 year old boy for no reason ? It is possible, anything is possible but I would do some fact checking.
Last time I was in the West Bank I saw plenty of 12 year old boys throwing rocks at passing cars, which would constitute as a reason IMO and nothing happened. Except them getting chased back to their school yard and me being very tired.
The problem with these things is that they become very political. For example, the courts usually tend to be left leaning, and it is not easy to prosecute a minor.
For example, before the disengament from Gaza, one of the ways the settlement movement staged its protests was blocking some of the main highways of Tel Aviv. By 12 year old girls.
Now this was both a court case but also involved the government because it was an attempt to thwart a decision by Sharon's government.
For over a month the girls refused to identify themselves and kept in detention. Not prison mind you, but still harsh for a kid ( though everyone knew who they were ) .
So, what I'm trying to say is that if the kid was arrested there probably was a reason, maybe it turned out to be false I dunno.
Link me please.
