Just had a thought: I wonder if there's any correlation between low driving ages and prevalence of cars with automatic transmission. On this side of the pond, automatics are a bit of a luxury, and if you take your test in one you get a code on your licence to say you can't drive a manual, which is a serious disadvantage (especially for young drivers) as automatics are rarer and more expensive. So pretty much nobody learns to drive in an automatic unless it's because they only have one arm, or something like that.

—Nous disons en allemand : le guerre, le mort, le lune, alors que 'soleil' et 'amour' sont du sexe féminin : la soleil, la amour. La vie est neutre.
—La vie ? Neutre ? C'est très joli, et surtout très logique.

Given the nature of the people involved, I highly doubt they're willing to go to NOLA.

School years by birth year? That's far too logical and orderly for an English-speaking country!

It's pretty arbitrary, but you have to consider the ramifications at the college level

I was just suggesting it as a possible reason, there's no need to get persnickity.

I didn't mean to be persnickety. I was just trying to understand.
