"*A 10 percent tax on indoor tanning services that use ultraviolet lamps goes into effect on July 1."
This just makes me happy for some reason
I don't understand why so many people were worried that their Medicare was going to evaporate. If anything, the bill appears to be expanding it?

I thought I saw something along the lines of Medicare payments were going to be reduced. Which could only apply to non-primary care, since Medicare payments to primary-care (non-specialist) doctors was going to see a bonus of 10%. The worry people experienced about that is that doctors were claiming they would drop Medicare patients because Medicare wouldn't pay enough. Wait and see, I guess.

They don't, or at least not in this bill. That'll have to be a new bill.

To the extent the framers intended an elitist legislature, they erred, IMHO.

We can't pay for the subsidies; even after the tax hike they increase debt in the short term.
