I thought my church was bad! Lupine Send a noteboard - 04/04/2010 09:42:43 PM
First time I've been to an Episcopalian church where "genuflect" is a direction in the liturgy.

It was basically pre-Vatican II Roman Catholicism, except about a third of the words were in English. Priests facing altars, singing Regina coeli, you name it. No adoration of the Host, though, although it was close for a time.

Onto my fourth and final Easter service for the day.

Wow.
I grew up in a tiny country-ish Episcopal church where things were about as informal as you can get and still call yourself Anglican... since I started attending a church in UC, I sometimes feel like I've moved to 19th century England. But it's still nothing like that.
