Off brand lenses are much less expensive than branded lenses. You'll see them when you look at Adorama. They will say like "Tamron for Nikon" or "Tokina for Nikon" stay away from Quant (I've heard). This might be your best bet for your zoom lens - you'll get more for your dollar!
