Though, as the game designers said, PORTAL was designed to be a short gaming experience. 7 or 8 hours of portal puzzles would probably be too much without more variety.

Makes me wonder how PORTAL 2 is going to work. It's a stand-alone, 'full' game which suggests it will be significantly larger in size, but if it is they'll have to have made it more varied than the original, but too many new features would eliminate the simplicity that's part of PORTAL's charm. Guess we'll find out in the autumn.
