For anyone who hasnt had a chance to play the new starcraft, you're definately missing out.
The game is absolutely awsome! The game play for regular melee combats is not all that different from starcraft 1 but the map editor is so much more powerful and full of a million posibilities. During the Beta I actually saw an arcade space shoot em up type of map that was really well done with completely custom graphics. The editor is VERY object oriented with inheritence and extensions of the current starcraft units. You have complete control over every aspect of every unit in the game. You can even write your own AI for the computer in a custom settings map. Very exciting.
Anyway, the beta phase 1 ended on 6/7/10. Beta phase 2 should be opening up soon. Cant wait for the full release!

Could be worse. I'm still miffed about its release structure, though. I feel milked.

I'm pretty anti-DRM, but one-time connection seems reasonable enough.

Go start your own game company? Really? That's the only response?

I have to agree... the more restrictions and hassles they put on playing purchased games

That's just a terrible argument. If they have no Internet, they can't illegally download games.
