Cutting down on the RPG elements to appeal to a wider market. If this is so I'll admit to being very disappointed with Dragon Age's new approach, since it seems to sacrifice both the continuity and the identity of the original game.

While I enjoy the Mass Effect games, I thought the whole point of Dragon Age series was to to build a spiritual successor to RPG style of the Baldur's Gate series. Still a long way from March 2011 though, and I'm happy to reserve judgment until I've seen the game.
