Vampire Nocturnus is a nice buff that makes all your vampires into fliers and gives them +2/+1 as long as the top card on your deck is a black card. The fetch lands let you tap them to sacrifice a life to fetch a land card and shuffle your deck. This allows you to tap one in the event there isn't a black card on the top of your deck to give you another chance of getting the buff back.
(I'm not going to claim to be an expert on magic by any means, but my roommate has been teaching me, and he has a very successful mono black vampire deck. The cards I've mentioned are the ones that have been the most useful to me so far.)
