Oblivion had a cliched-as-hell story, no sense of danger, and no engaging world. Morrowind was an enormous, terrifying place filled with manipulative people all trying to get you to help out their faction. It was brilliant.
Mmmm...yeah, I can kind of see that. I mean, I thought that the story wasn't completely cliche. They had enough originality in the specifics to suit me just fine. Although, I must admit oblivion gates did kind of suck once you encountered them for like the 10th time.
As for the factions, I thought like Morrowind spread out everything so the world seemed more connected. Oblivion kept most things central to one city. Something like you go to this city to get a quest and then go to a dungeon, kill people and then go back. Morrowind was like, go talk to this guy in this city to help you go to a dungeon, kill people, then go back, talk to that guy, then go report back to the original city. That is, IIRC.
And Dagoth Ur was pretty badass. You actually got to fight him unlike Mehrunes Dagon.
And cliff racers were awesome.

Haha, well, once you could actually kill them, maybe.
Go Hokies!

I agree. Morrowind's story made me feel a Dragon Reborn level of importance and demand. *NM*

Blame the publisher for rushing Obsidian. Also, there's a community-made completion project.
