For CS you really won't use any math beyond some advanced algebra, MAYBE some intro level calculus.

For CPE, yeah you'll need DE and other high level math.

This comes from working as a network administrator (with some coding experience) both with, and for, and being very close friends with literally dozens of engineers (computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, etc) and dozens of software engineers/coders.


I hope I don't go into a field with this math then. I feel like I won't since I plan on finding a job that mixes the two disciplines. But I do like the CpE side better so that might stink. :/


I work for Intel and I don't use jack insofar as math is concerned.

But there's a LOT of roles which do require it.
