Apparently there were a pile of "10" reviews on metacritic on day 1 of the release, all from accounts made in the past 24 hours. Supposedly Bioware (or EA?) also contacted metacritic asking them to remove various negative reviews. As it stands now, the "critic" reviews are in the 80% range, while the "user" reviews (which generally reflect those of the critics) are in the 40% range
Anyway, I haven't played the game so I can't comment on its quality. Still, seems like there's been a lot of bad blood surrounding this release, and I can't say I'm impressed with Bioware/EA/whoever the buck stops with.
