I'm a Zelda fan..and these are the games I've played and what I think of them. Dragonsworn Send a noteboard - 19/09/2009 12:47:59 PM
I don't really like the old Zeldas. I thought of Zelda 1 to be confusing and never finished. 2 was horrible, never finished. Never played Link's Awakening because I didn't own a gameboy and I've never had the chance to ever play A Link to the Past. Didn't have the machine, then as now.

The first Zelda I played was Ocarina of Time and it made me a full-time gamer. I love that game, it opened up an entire world to me, that I only thought existed in books and it was interactive, I was living the adventure! No game before had made feel that way before. Since 1999 I've played it 10 times, the magic has faded a few inches, nothing is ever like the first time.

Stand out moments: visiting Kokiri village by night and taking in the beauty, silence and serenity of it. Saria's sad eyes, the owl Kaepora Gaebora, the melodies, the mysterious Sheik, the huge bosses, Ganondorf playing dark solemn music on the organ, to just name a few.

Next was Majora's Mask, which is a great adventure full of mystery and with lots to discover. Beware, the final boss is a killer that shows no quarter. A lot nastier than Ganondorf in OoT, I can say. It whupped my ass several times.

Then came The Wind Waker
I recently played through it, and I've still got mixed feeling about that one. I like the cel shading approach, I like that it wasn't too hard to play, but the story was spread thin over all that excessive, excessive, excessive sailing, and that's my main complaint.

Twilight Princess (The true spiritual successor to Ocarina)
Stole the title of best Zelda I've played from OoT. It's just fantastic. Great focused story, great battles, lots to do, tough bosses, a great last battle against Ganondorf. There are great references to Ocarina througout the game (the photo of the manager of the fish pond in OoT, the ruined spirit temple, epona's song, to name a few.

Sadly I will probably never play all of the gameboy zeldas or the DS games, I'm not really into handheld machines, they don't keep me exited. Nothing wrong with the games though. There are several I would like to play, just don't like handhelds, they don't keep me captivated enough. If they released them for stationary machines, then maybe.

Don't know of the trains, sorry. They sound annoying!

I've ranted enough

What do you others think?
"I didn't have much to say to anybody but kept to myself and my books. With my eyes closed, I would touch a familiar book and draw it's fragrance deep inside me. This was enough to make me happy."
