When I said "better," though, I was really thinking "better price/performance ratio." A better BUY, if you will, not just better hardware. You're right that hardware gets released at relatively infrequent, predictable interviews, but hardware pricing is a lot crazier. If he waits three months to get newly released hardware, he'll get better performance for the same price. If he waits another three months, though, he'll see that same hardware for a few hundred less. Once again, he'll get better performance for his dollar.

Anyway, if it were a few weeks off, I'd say waiting might be a good idea, but three months seems a little too long. It's easy to get stuck in a perpetual cycle of waiting for the next best thing, and never get around to actually buying, and enjoying, a computer.
