I played for a year (or two?) at launch, and then in 2-3 month spurts when each successive expansion came out. This time, though...I don't know. Nothing I've heard about so far seems overly compelling. "PvE scenarios" and "Challenge mode dungeons" could be interesting, but I'm basically picturing harder instances and a few more scripted events. We'll see how that stuff goes. As to the new lore/story, we have a hitherto unheard of continent that has been "magically hidden" since the sundering. In other words, this is just totally made up out of thin air on Blizzard's part. I'm sure their writers will weave it all nicely together, but come on. Previously I got to visit the broken world of Draenor, the icy seat of the Lich King's power, the world tree (and redesigned classic zones), etc. Mystery panda island just doesn't do it for me.

On the other hand, maybe I'll change my mind once details about the new enemy are revealed. I'm not sure who they could use, though. I'm sure they'll come up with something cool, but it seems to me that the Warcraft universe is running out of baddies. We've done Illidan, the Lich King, Deathwing, Old Gods, sort-of-kil'jaeden, etc. Without just inventing new enemies, all they could really do would be an alliance of the remaining Old Gods or Sargeras himself.

Anyway, I guess we'll see how it goes, but for now I'm thoroughly underwhelmed by Pandaria.
