In other words, this is just totally made up out of thin air on Blizzard's part. I'm sure their writers will weave it all nicely together, but come on.
This isn't new though. Khaz Modan, Quel'thalas and six of the human Kingdoms were added for Tides of Darkness, Northrend and Kalimdor were created for Reign of Chaos, and in the process informed us that the lore of the first two games was just a regrettable mistake because the Burning Legion couldn't open the Black Portal on the correct continent. Also, Orcs are just misunderstood.
The first rule of being a ninja is "do no harm". Unless you intend to do harm, then do lots of harm.
