the Undead (who are directly responsible for the destruction of Quel'thalas, the desecration of the Sunwell and are commanded by the reanimated corpse of the elven general who perished fighting them). I assume there's an explanation for that somewhere in the game, but I stopped paying attention before I was ever told what it was.
This one actually makes more sense than you'd think. The Forsaken (free-willed undead led by Sylvanas) hate the Scourge (mindless undead led by Arthas) possibly more than anyone else. They've lost quite literally everything because of the Scourge. Sylvanas serves as something of a linchpin between the Blood Elves and the Forsaken. Also, the Forsaken helped the Sin'dorei retake Silvermoon, so they're owed a debt.
Except if they're going to forsake their centuries old alliances (High Elves and Humans have been allied against the Amani Trolls forever) just because of one jerk, it's hard to conceive that they'd make the distinction between two groups of Undead. Didn't know about the Forsaken helping them retake Silvermoon though.
The first rule of being a ninja is "do no harm". Unless you intend to do harm, then do lots of harm.
