The story in FF12 leaves much to be desired Dragonsworn Send a noteboard - 24/09/2009 10:41:28 PM
FF12 was to me the biggest FF letdown ever. There was practicaly no story, and what there was, was spread thin over countless hours of back and forth travelling. The whole gambit thing was a letdown too. There was absolutely no need to use it since the game is fully playable without it. There is also no need to give deep thought into what character to use in the party since every character is basically evenly strong later on in the game.

Square Enix acknowledged that fans were not satisfied with the story.

I played it, finished it, and sold it.
Though keeping all my other FF:s

Any thoughts?
"I didn't have much to say to anybody but kept to myself and my books. With my eyes closed, I would touch a familiar book and draw it's fragrance deep inside me. This was enough to make me happy."

Exactly. When I think story here, I think of the individual stories as well as the whole. - 26/09/2009 07:13:24 PM 814 Views
Still, it's good for a videogame story. - 26/09/2009 07:54:01 PM 739 Views
I agree, with caveat. - 26/09/2009 11:54:25 PM 843 Views
New games do not feature the storytelling prowess of good TV, films, or novels. - 28/09/2009 01:03:46 AM 752 Views

Cymbaline is right. Some games have excellent stories. - 29/09/2009 10:44:16 AM 693 Views
And yet so many people claim to play them for their stories... - 25/09/2009 03:06:44 AM 804 Views
The extras lower peoples' standards, but I DO think it's still the story. - 25/09/2009 04:34:30 AM 696 Views
