Surprisingly, console commands seem like "cheating" while mods with "features" don't. Zalis Send a noteboard - 14/12/2011 03:10:07 PM
I'm not really sure why, but that's how my gaming mind works with TES titles. Then again, I don't use mods that do cheap things, so it could be why. I tend to prefer the eventual overhaul mods over ones that just make things easier. My best friend had no qualms with modifying his inventory capacity in Oblivion, but it just felt cheap to me -- I couldn't do it.

Also, I think there's a masochistic part of me that likes having to decide what to loot and what to leave behind. Last night, for instance, my quests involved raiding two ships, then following a double-crosser to his hideout cave. By the time I reached the end of the cave, I was having to dump my excess loot. So, goodbye Fur and Studded Armor... Anything that weighed too much for its value got tossed. The 19 sets of Leather Armor sold fairly well, as far as efficiency went... Even with my +30 weight Boots of Hauling, I still had to use one of my Strength potions to get back to town.
The sword might be grateful to the forge fire, but never fond of it.

True, there are those perks. But they apply to all fire spells, or all dual-cast spells, etc - 09/12/2011 09:23:10 PM 665 Views

Can you enchant Light Armor to make it as effective as no-armor mage robes? *NM* - 09/12/2011 11:58:58 PM 340 Views
You can, I have done this. *NM* - 10/12/2011 12:02:37 AM 350 Views
I can usually get three or four fireballs off - 10/12/2011 12:37:15 AM 632 Views
Fireball splash damage doesn't hurt you. Walk up to a wall and blast it; no damage. *NM* - 10/12/2011 10:33:38 PM 338 Views
huh, good point - 11/12/2011 01:08:43 AM 635 Views
True enough. Can't you tell them to hold their ground, though? I've never used one so I dunno. *NM* - 11/12/2011 04:08:31 AM 309 Views

I think companions are a clever ruse by Bethesda - 14/12/2011 03:17:09 AM 612 Views
? You guys are crazy. Just get a companion, and forget about 'em. They catch up. - 14/12/2011 01:23:29 PM 712 Views
I dunno about that... - 16/12/2011 02:45:05 AM 607 Views
Why not just use the console to add carrying capacity to yourself? - 14/12/2011 02:45:18 PM 1105 Views
