I'd say most of my PC games are either bought on Steam, or downloaded through nefarious means. And there are definitely full games you can download on PSN or Xbox live. And Nintendo has the virtual console.

Really, I'd think it's just a bandwidth issue. A Blu-Ray game is a monstrous amount of data- and people do enjoy having instant gratification.

As bandwidth and storage space on hard drives improve, buying games wholly online will become even more common.

And if that puts Gamestop out of business... well, screw'em. Try to make me preorder every game I want to buy...
