Do something so unrelated, that it brings them back to it. Hopefully the player's interest will be peeked, it gives you an opportunity to give them some new information.

It doesn't even need to be a drawn out adventure, but a side quest. Half a session, if that.

Sorry should have mentioned it earlier.
