Put 60, exactly 60, cards in your deck. Make sure that no more than 20 of them are lands. That is the best way to start. You can cut back from there or expand slightly, but it is the optimal starting point. Otherwise you can't build any coherent strategy into your deck - it's just a bunch of cards.
