I've heard about there being no towns, or places that just open up a few extraneous interactions. There aren't any games, or a lot of any sort of extra stuff except the straight run through the story.
Yes, FF games have always been linear, and I don't have a problem with that. But, I would have liked to see a little more variation or areas of discovery/interaction rather than less.
Of course, this is only from reviews... I'll be picking up a copy at first opportunity to check it out for myself. Oh, I'll be getting a PS3 version.
