Plot development wise, I don't know if anyone can fill the shoes of the Baldur's Gate franchise 
Of course, even Icewind bloody-Dale had better plot development than this expansion, and Icewind Dale always felt mostly crazy-lineary-hack/slash to me. Not that I didn't adore it.
