True, but the impressive EASTERN FRONT mod does deal with this by switching to a later period on the Russian front with the heavier tanks available, plus the Red Army faction as well. In CoH itself it would have been trickier. Maybe a Battle of the Bulge campaign or one where you had to escape from the Falaise Gap?
Good point. Even a 1939-41 game might be a neat addition to the games, as long as we've got the good stuff from this one.

I think it was nine out of twenty, with the regular Space Marines having slightly more manpower. Since the Heresy dozens, maybe hundreds, of new chapters have been founded for the normal Space Marines, whilst the CSM seem to have remained in their original chapters (albeit augmented by lots of daemon units).
Is there a reason why they can't or don't increase? Did their home planets get destroyed (DoW2 implies the chapters are each based on a planet and the Marines are born and grown up there) or do they need something only the Emperor or Imperial authorities possess in order to make new chapters? Can they increase their numbers, or are the Chaos Marines doomed to eventually dwindle away to be replaced by a bunch of daemons and regular people who follow Chaos?

The Tyranids did appear in computer games earlier, such as SPACE HULK on the PC (in 1992) and SPACE CRUSADE and VENGEANCE OF THE BLOOD ANGELS on the Amiga and PC (in 1993 and 1995). SPACE HULK was particularly successful for its time.
By hardly the brandname Starcraft became, or getting recognition beyond its particular fans.

PENNY ARCADE has an interesting take on the reaction of old-school WARHAMMER fans whenever anyone says they've ripped Blizzard off (which I know you're not doing).
Fandom is fandom and you don't have to be familiar with the material to get that strip.

In full agreement on the DRM. But the Tyranids predated the Zerg by quite a long time. - 26/03/2010 12:24:50 AM 631 Views
