Well, I've lived in
Wichita, Kansas
Atlanta, Georgia
Huntsville, Alabama
So keep in mind I have limited comparisons. I disliked Atlanta a lot because the city is so impersonal. I think I would dislike any large city, really.
The people here are pretty religious, and much more forward about it than I've experienced elsewhere. When I first moved here I was surprised when my dental hygienist asked me what church I was attending. Weird. Luckily work is not like that.
There are some places I would not be comfortable here if I were a person of color. (There were some places in Atlanta I would not be comfortable as a white guy, too!) I describe Huntsville though, as a place that is very similar to the Wichita I grew up in during the 80s, because it's about the same size.
