Guess we should all let the bodies get cold enough that it becomes convenient for people to start dismissing the fact that the US is the only nation where this regularly happens.
In Israel I get to have a rifle every now and then when I am on reserve duty, but I have to give it back and it is hard to get a private gun license. I wish it would be somewhat easier to have a license, these days you have to be a reserve army officer or a settler. But even so, it should not be as easy to get weapons as in the States.
I get that guns aren't just for self defense but also to make government wary of the citizenry. So you don't get an Erdogan type figure or some such.
