Maybe the opaque worlds they live in drive them to progressivism? Not brave enough to fight back against the people of power who run their industries, they channel their anger against society in general. Sort of "I am helpless to fight the guy who took advantage of me, so I will fight against all guys who take advantage of women"
Hollywood has the best moral compass, because it has compassion.
