'Tot' in Dutch is indeed 'until' (basically - in some contexts another English word may fit better). Pronunciation broadly similar to how you'd be inclined to pronounce it in English, with a short O.

Whereas in German, 'tot' is pronounced with a long O, kind of like how you'd pronounce 'toat' in English. The Dutch equivalent is 'dood', where you can see the long O represented by a doubled vowel.
