Giant Meteor 2018 - Edit 1

Seriously. When the Eagles were forced to station a municipal judge at home games just to handle all the criminal charges arising against their own fans in the stands, Philly officially pulled ahead of Oakland as the Worst Fans on Earth. The correct response to "Why did you throw batteries at a player?" is "What?! Neither we nor any other decent human beings would ever do such a vicious shameful thing," not "Which time?" Hell, they even threw batteries at their current head coach when he was just their backup QB. Plus, being raised on the Landry Cowboys, I share rts view: The Eagles are the ONLY team without a Lombardi Trophy in a division where everyone else has won (at least) three, which feels like divine football justice: Miserable fans deserve a miserable franchise.

On the other hand, they are not the Cheatriots, which singlehandedly makes up for almost all the above crimes (even the literal ones.) rt can say a sixth title would "only" match the Steelers for the most by ANY team, but that overlooks the fact NE* has taped and deflated its way to more SBs in only a decade-and-a-half than any other team has managed in its entire existence. Calling them "Patriots" is perhaps only right, because they are the living embodiment of everything wrong with modern America, and thus the sole reason it needs to be Made Great AGAIN rather than merely maintaining an enduring greatness apparently lost forever: In the place of Truth, Justice and the American Way, the new American Way is openly lying and stealing "achievement" with PRIDE and not only impunity, but COMMENDATION.

That and the Schrödingers Catch rules have done far more to destroy the NFLs popularity than any grandstanding by Kaepernick to force SF to cut him so he could start somewhere else, be paid accordingly AND still collect his $17,000,000 from SF (or did no one else notice that his sleeping giant social conscience/ego never awoke until AFTER his 2016 salary was fully guaranteed, or that he quickly followed his "protests" by publicly bashing Obama to ensure liberals loathed him as much as conservatives, then capped it all by publicly saying he could no more be bothered to VOTE in 2016 than to stand for the National Anthem?) If it were the regular season I could at least root for a tie: Then NO ONE wins. But postseason games must be played to a decision (too bad the Falcons forgot that last year) so:

Go, Giant Meteor!

I hate to see the long suffering Vikings franchise as collateral damage after the NFL screwed them out of being the first team to host a Super Bowl, but sacrifices must be made. I will read all about it the next day, since I am scheduled to work that night, so this will be only the second SB I have missed since I was born, but, under the circumstances, I will not miss it very MUCH.
