It's not functionally different for a species that has not existed for a million years. There is no chance that, for instance, the Philadelphia Eagles won the Superbowl 2 million years ago or some other value that is bounded by "Never" but outside "a million years".
And what's your objection, anyway? Even if it matters that "Never" and "[not] in a million years" are mathematically different, they're still both true statements.
